“1000 Tamales” Hospitality Night.

 

The Crosscultural Council, which oversees La Playa Center, had another fabulous turnout selling over 1000 tamales on Hospitality Night. Sales exceeded $3000! 

 

Each holiday season the students from the ESL (English-as a Second-Language) classes have the opportunity to show their appreciation toward their volunteer teachers and staff by preparing over 1000 handmade tamales that will be sold during “Hospitality Night.” This is La Playa Center’s biggest fundraising event! A team of over 20 ESL students and teachers shop, chop, shred, spread, assemble and steam tamales for three days. The unique flavors of their homemade sauces and salsas keeps our community coming back for more year after year.
